Park and attraction entry fees

What it costs to get in, separate from what a guide charges.

The fee table fills in from the places Safiri lists. None are published yet, so there is nothing to show here, and we would rather show nothing than a figure we cannot stand behind.

Park rates by visitor category

Per person, per day, checked against the published schedules on the dates shown. Kenya Wildlife Service gates are cashless: pay on eCitizen by M-Pesa or card. The 2025 KWS rates were challenged in the High Court in October 2025, so check kws.go.ke for the rate on your date. The Maasai Mara uses Narok County's own ticketing. Vehicles pay a separate fee.

About entry fees

Who sets park entry fees in Kenya?
It depends on who runs the place. National parks, such as Nairobi, Hell's Gate, Amboseli and Lake Nakuru, are run by the Kenya Wildlife Service. National reserves, such as the Maasai Mara and Samburu, are run by their county governments: the Mara's fees are set by Narok County, with higher rates from July to December. Private conservancies set their own. Every authority charges different rates for citizens, residents and visitors from abroad.
Is the entry fee included in a guide's price?
Usually not. Entry fees are normally paid at the gate, separately from what a guide charges. Every service on Safiri lists what it includes and what it excludes, and the fee is shown beside the guide's price rather than after you have decided.
Is the fee charged per night or per day?
Per entry, per day. Kenya Wildlife Service tickets last 24 hours, and a Maasai Mara ticket covers one day from 06:00 to 18:00, so a three-day visit pays for three days. Children under five go free in KWS parks, and children eight and under in the Mara.
