About Safiri
A Kenya travel marketplace where the person you book has been checked first.
What Safiri is
Safiri lists guides, drivers, hosts and translators across Kenya, and the places they take people. We state what it costs to get into a place separately from what a guide charges, so the total is clear before you decide.
How we check people
Before anyone can be booked, we confirm each licence and certificate with the body that issued it: the Tourism Regulatory Authority for guides, NTSA for drivers and their passenger insurance, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for certificates of good conduct. A person reads each one. We record every document's expiry date and check it again when it is renewed. The full process is on How it works.
What we do not claim
- Entry fees are set by the park or museum, change with the season and are paid at the gate. We show the figure we hold and say who sets it.
- Safiri is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 999 or 112.
- A checked licence is not a guarantee of how a day will go. Reviews and ratings come from people who have been.
